At least four people, including three Syrian soldiers, were killed in Israeli strikes near Damascus yesterday, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA, citing official sources.
A Syrian Defense Ministry official said that an Israeli drone targeted a building of the Syrian army's 44th division in the town of Kisue, about ten kilometers south of the capital. Three soldiers from this division were killed in the attack.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported six soldiers killed, including a commander.
AFP notes that the information from the non-governmental monitoring organization, which is based in Britain but has a wide network of sources in Syria, has not been officially confirmed.
The state news agency SANA reported the death of a young man in an Israeli strike on a house in the village of Tarnaja in the Golan Heights, part of which is occupied and annexed by Israel.
Since an Islamist coalition toppled long-time Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in December, Israel has carried out hundreds of strikes on the neighboring country, with which it is technically at war. At the same time, it is holding talks with the new Syrian authorities, Agence France-Presse summarizes.
