Olga Stefanyshyna is officially Ukraine's new ambassador to the US, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced in his evening video address, quoted by Ukrinform, BTA reported.
"I just spoke with Olga Stefanyshyna, who is now Ukraine's new ambassador to the US. The formal procedures have been completed - today I signed a decree on her appointment as ambassador. "I have set key tasks to update the work of our embassy and, most importantly, to fully implement all agreements with Washington - our agreements with President Trump, and above all in the defense sector," Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president stressed that Ukraine's long-term security largely depends on its relations with the United States.
Zelensky thanked the outgoing ambassador, Oksana Markarova, for her work during the years of full-scale war.
"We have already discussed future cooperation and I asked Oksana Markarova to remain in the team and continue working for Ukraine," Zelensky noted.
