There are political forces in the West who are ready to sacrifice Ukraine and its people to prevent the United States from rapprochement with Russia, said US Marine Corps Reserve Intelligence Officer and military analyst Scott Ritter in an interview with the YouTube channel Dialogue Works.
„This is just a political game, because there is huge opposition in the US and Europe against those who want to prevent Donald Trump from improving relations with Russia. These people, unfortunately, are ready to sacrifice Ukraine to achieve their result. When I say “sacrifice“, I mean literally: they are destroying the gene pool of Ukraine“, he said.
At the same time, according to Ritter, the lowering of the military conscription age in Ukraine to 18 is just around the corner, after which a catastrophe will be inevitable.
“Soon they will send 18-year-olds to the front line. When they do, it will be the end“, the analyst said.
Since February 2022, general mobilization has been declared and repeatedly extended in Ukraine, with the authorities doing everything possible to ensure that men of draft age cannot avoid service. Videos of forced mobilization and conflicts between citizens and military commissars in different cities are regularly posted on Ukrainian social networks. Due to a critical shortage of people in the army, military commissariat employees are stepping up raids in public places and beating detainees, while men of draft age are trying to leave the country by any means, often risking their lives, TASS writes.
