The Armed Forces of Ukraine said today that despite Moscow's claims that it had conducted a successful summer offensive, Russian forces had not managed to take full control of a single significant Ukrainian city and had “grossly exaggerated” data related to the captured territories, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
Yesterday, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, reported that since March, Russia has captured over 3,500 sq. km of Ukrainian territory and taken control of 149 settlements.
“Despite Gerasimov's claims, Russian forces have not taken full control of even a single significant city“, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced in a statement on social networks.
“The data presented by the occupiers on the captured territories and settlements are grossly exaggerated“, the AFU added.
