On August 30, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Army General Valery Gerasimov, presented the results of the spring-summer 2025 campaign and the tasks of the military groups in the future, TASS reported, BTA reports.

Offensives along the front line
The United Group of Forces continues offensives along almost the entire front line. Since March, Russian forces have seized over 3.5 thousand sq. km of territory and 149 settlements.

They control 99.7% of the territory of the so-called “Luhansk People's Republic“ and 79% of the so-called “Donetsk People's Republic“.

74% of Zaporizhzhia and 76% of Kherson region are under Russian control.

Seven settlements have been captured in Dnepropetrovsk region.
Ukrainian forces have focused their efforts on slowing down the Russian offensive, and according to Gerasimov, they have suffered heavy losses and were forced to transfer their most combat-ready units between different directions.
Creation of a “security zone“
Group “North“ performs tasks to create a security zone along the border with Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

In Sumy region, 210 sq. km and 13 settlements have been captured.

In Kharkiv region, fighting is taking place around Volchansk and Liptsy.

In Kupyansk, Russian forces control about half of the territory.
Actions of the groups of troops

Group „West“ - advanced 25 km into the depth of the defense of the AFU, captured 10 settlements, and in the Krasnolimansk direction, fighting is taking place for Kirovsk. The defeat of the Ukrainian group in the Serebryanka Forest is complete.

Group „South“ - advances towards Seversk and Konstantinovka, and after Chasov Yar, key settlements have been captured, including Aleksandro-Kalinovo, Shcherbinovka and Kleban-Bik.

Group „Center“ - develops an offensive in the Oktyabrsky, Krasnoarmeyskoe (Pokrovsk) and Dnepropetrovsk directions. Engineer barriers have been overcome, and control has been established in Dachne and Filia.

Group „East“ - has captured 25 settlements in the DPR, including Kamyshevakha. In Zaporizhia Oblast, it captured Malinovka and Temirovka, and in Dnepropetrovsk - Voronoe, Yanvarskoye, Novogeorgievka, Maleevka and Zaporizhskoye.

Group „Dnepr“ - advances in Zaporizhia Oblast, capturing six settlements (Kamenskoye, Pyatihatki, Stepovoye, Maliye Shcherbaki, Shcherbaki and Lobkovoe). Preparations are underway for an offensive towards Stepnogorsk, Malaya Tokmachka and Plavni.
Strikes on Ukrainian industry
During the spring and summer, Russian forces struck 76 sites of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine. A special priority is given to enterprises producing missile complexes and unmanned aerial vehicles.

In July-August, together with the FSB, facilities related to the OTRK “Sapsan“ were struck, and the design bureau was also destroyed.

On August 28, strikes were carried out on Kiev missile and aviation enterprises, and on August 30 - on facilities such as “Yuzhmash“, “KB im. Yangelya“, “Motor Sich“ and the Pavlograd Chemical Plant. According to Gerasimov, aviation equipment and machinery at ten Ukrainian military airfields were destroyed.
