Two people were killed today in a drone strike on a car near the international airport of the Syrian city of Aleppo, Agence France-Presse reported, citing a representative of the new Syrian authorities, BTA reports.
The Syrian state news agency SANA confirmed that a drone had attacked a civilian car, but did not provide further details. The Ministry of Health, quoted by SANA, reported one death. The remains of a destroyed car were found at the scene.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. Israel and the US-led international coalition in Syria are carrying out drone strikes targeting leaders of the jihadist group “Islamic State“ in the north of the country. Last month, the coalition eliminated a high-ranking leader of the organization.
