The director general of the Russian state nuclear corporation "Rosatom" Alexei Likhachev said this morning that his corporation is ready to discuss with the American company "Westinghouse" the issue of nuclear fuel at the Ukrainian Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the RIA Novosti agency reported, quoted by BTA.
In June, Russia asked the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to mediate between Moscow and Washington to resolve the issue of what to do with the American nuclear fuel stored at the Ukrainian nuclear power plant, now controlled by Russian forces, Reuters notes.
According to Likhachev, the company "Westinghouse" and US energy officials have previously raised intellectual property issues with Russia over the fuel issue.
