Russia will never sell its energy resources at a price that is unprofitable for it. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov in a conversation with RIA Novosti journalists at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
The official representative of the Kremlin was asked whether Russian interests were respected in the agreement on the Power of Siberia 2 project. “Of course, Russia will never sell its energy resources at a price that would be unprofitable for our country“, Peskov replied.
Earlier, at the EEF meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin explained the difference in prices for Russian gas for Europe and China. As the Russian leader noted, the difference arose due to different prices for products, which make up the total price of energy resources.
On September 2, it became known that “Gazprom“ had signed a memorandum in China for the construction of the “Power of Siberia 2“ gas pipeline. The head of the company, Alexei Miller, announced that the price of gas for China would be lower than for Europe.
