On September 8, EU officials will hold talks in Washington on anti-Russian sanctions, the Associated Press reported, citing its sources.
According to their information, the delegation will be led by the EU's special envoy for sanctions David O'Sullivan. The meeting will be held at the US Treasury Department, where instruments of economic pressure on Russia, including new sanctions, will be discussed.
Representatives of the State Department, the Office of the US Trade Representative and the White House will participate in the discussion.
Earlier, the head of the European Council, António Costa, announced the plans of the EU team to go to the US to discuss sanctions against Russia. He did not specify when exactly the meeting would take place.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a press conference after his visit to China that the West was using the events in Ukraine to solve its economic problems in relations with various countries.
