Estonia sends military instructors to Poland - 1

Estonia has sent a unit of professional soldiers and reserve instructors to Poland to train Ukrainian soldiers, ERR reported, citing the commander of the Estonian unit, Captain Silver Kuldkep.

“As part of the Legio training mission, the Estonian Defence Forces sent a unit of up to 10 professional soldiers and reserve instructors to Poland to train Ukrainian soldiers“, the publication said.

ERR notes that the program aims to “improve the basic military training of soldiers“ of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, with one training cycle lasting two months.

Since the beginning of the armed conflict in Ukraine, Estonian instructors have trained over 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers.

Following the launch of the Legio initiative in Northern Europe and the Baltic States, Estonian instructors will soon complete their participation in the British Interflex training program for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Russia believes that the supply of weapons to Ukraine hinders the settlement of the conflict, directly involves NATO countries in the conflict and is “playing with fire“. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any supply containing weapons to Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Russia. The Kremlin said that the introduction of weapons into Ukraine from the West does not contribute to the negotiations and will have a negative effect.
