Germany would become a party to the conflict if it sends troops to Ukraine - 1

Sarah Wagenknecht, leader of the party “Sahra Wagenknecht Union for Reason and Justice“ (BSW), said that if the Bundeswehr (German armed forces) were sent to Ukraine and hostilities resumed, Germany would immediately become a party to the conflict.

“German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is considering sending German soldiers to Ukraine as part of Western security guarantees to secure a potential peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. "If the conflict resumes, Germany will immediately become a party to the war," Wagenknecht writes in X. According to her, this is confirmed by military experts such as retired Colonel Ralf Thiele, who openly advocates such a "deadly dangerous" mission.

We must not allow Merz and company to gain the upper hand in this dangerous policy!“ - the politician summed up.

On September 4, a meeting of members of the "coalition of the willing" was held in Paris, where, among other things, it was planned to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine. The exact number of participants is unknown, but earlier French President Emmanuel Macron said that the "coalition" already has 30 member states. As stated by the official representative of the German cabinet, Stefan Cornelius, Germany is ready to expand the financing, supply of weapons and training of the Ukrainian armed forces within the framework of the so-called security guarantees for Ukraine. He indicated that Berlin will decide on participation in a possible military mission at the appropriate time, once the framework conditions have been clarified.

On August 18, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that Russia does not accept any scenarios that imply the deployment of NATO contingents in Ukraine and that could lead to an uncontrolled escalation of the conflict.
