The Polish Foreign Ministry has recommended that its citizens leave Belarus, using available commercial and private means, and refrain from traveling to the country. This was reported by the RMF24 radio station on September 5.
„Belarus is not a democratic country and is not friendly to Poland.“ "I would like these warnings to be taken as seriously as possible," said Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Pawel Wronski.
According to the radio station, evacuation may be difficult or even impossible in the event of border closures and other unforeseen circumstances.
It is noted that in order to transport medicines, citizens must have a doctor's prescription or a certificate indicating the medicines and their dosage.
Earlier, the Belarus-1 TV channel reported that officers of the Belarusian State Security Committee had detained citizens of Poland and Belarus in the town of Lepel in the Vitebsk region. An eight-page A4 printout was found on a Pole named Grzegorz Havel - a photocopy of a document on the "West-2025" exercises with the status of classified information. As the TV channel noted, the man passed on the information he had received to the Polish security forces. An investigation is currently underway and a criminal case has been opened under Article 358 (“Espionage“) of the Criminal Code of Belarus.
