The Polish secret services have gone beyond the control of the country's leadership, said Marian Banasz, head of the Supreme Audit Office.
„Today the secret services are not subject to any control. This is a state within the state. The Central Anti-Corruption Bureau, the Internal Security Agency, the Intelligence Agency - there is only the appearance that they are controlled“, he said on the air of the RMF FM radio station.
According to the head of the chamber, the heads of the secret services transmit to the top leadership only the information that they themselves consider necessary.
In addition, the state cannot control the finances of the secret services, Banasz added. According to him, the operational fund is also not subject to any control.
The head of the chamber complained that a bill designed to change this situation has long been in the Sejm, but Speaker Szymon Holownia is in no hurry to submit it for consideration.
