Israel has accepted Washington's offer for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. This was stated by the Jewish state's permanent representative to the UN Danny Danon.
„Israel has agreed to President Trump's offer for a ceasefire. "We are ready to stop the fighting, but Hamas refuses," he said at a UN Security Council meeting convened in connection with the Israeli strike on Doha.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had earlier called on the residents of the Gaza Strip to get rid of Hamas rule and agree to the peace proposal presented by President Trump.
On September 7, Trump said that he was demanding that Hamas accept his terms for resolving the conflict in the Gaza Strip, stressing that this was "the final warning." According to the Saudi Al-Hadath TV channel, Trump demanded that Hamas release all hostages and hand over the bodies of the dead prisoners to Israel within 48 hours of the entry into force of the future ceasefire agreement. The US president's proposal also includes "personal guarantees" that negotiations for a final cessation of hostilities in the sector will begin immediately after the ceasefire, which will last 60 days and can be extended.
A series of explosions occurred in Doha on September 9. Shortly thereafter, the Israeli army press service reported that the military, with the support of the General Security Service and the participation of the air force, carried out strikes on Hamas representatives.
