“Summer viral infections are diverse and are characterized by various manifestations, from runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever, to gastrointestinal discomfort and diarrhea“, says Burgas general practitioner Plamen Panayotov, BNR reported.
He reported that currently there is a minimal and quite usual increase in viral infections related to the upper respiratory tract.
Dr. Panayotov commented that there is no distinct trend towards an increase in infections related to the gastrointestinal tract.
But the doctor specified that every summer there is traditionally an increase in infections that are manifested by vomiting, diarrhea, diarrhea.
“This season too, an increase in these cases is expected, but at the moment nothing suggests that there may be a risk of increased morbidity", said Dr. Panayotov and shared that maintaining good personal hygiene largely prevents the risk of infections.
