Six unique Mercedes for sale

Their total value exceeds a dizzying $4.5 million

RM Sotheby's auction house has once again captivated the attention of connoisseurs, announcing the sale of the Silver Star Collection - an amazing selection of six Mercedes-Benz classics, the total value of which exceeds a dizzying $4.5 million. This is not just another deal with used cars, but a true parade of engineering genius and aesthetics, spanning seven decades of the history of the three-pointed star.

The pearl in this motorized crown is undoubtedly the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing from 1954. This car is one of only 167 examples produced in the model's first year, making it the "Holy Grail" for any serious investor. Originally finished in white and gray, today this masterpiece shines in the brand's classic silver with a fiery red interior, and the expected price of $2 million seems completely justified for an icon of such rank.

Closely next to it in terms of exclusivity is the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster from 1962. We are not talking about the standard version here, but about one of the last 182 units, equipped with more modern disc brakes and an aluminum engine block. The car underwent a meticulous restoration at Mercedes-Benz Classic a decade ago, retaining its authentic red color and cream interior, which raises the bidding bar to $1.74 million.

For fans of more modern classics and raw power, the Silver Star Collection offers the rare 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster. This technological beast, the fruit of a collaboration between Stuttgart and Woking, is one of only 520 examples produced. With a modest 6,000 kilometers and impeccable Crystal Laurit Silver paint, the roadster is estimated at around $553,000.

The evolution of the sporty spirit continues with two representatives of the 2013 SLS AMG model - a coupe and a roadster. The "gullwing" version in Iridium Silver carries the spirit of its great-grandfather from the 1950s, while the open version relies on the aggressive Obsidian Black and carbon-ceramic brakes. Both cars are practically new, with symbolic mileage readings, and their prices range between $300,000 and $337,000.

The list closes with the timeless elegance of the 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda. Although the most affordable in the group with an estimated price of $163,000, this car is a real gem for connoisseurs of detail. The combination of gray-blue exterior and dark blue leather, supported by the original 2.8-liter six-cylinder engine, makes the “Pagoda“ the perfect choice for Sunday strolls in style.
