American drivers have paid an additional $8.4 billion for fuel since the start of the military action against Iran due to rising fuel prices, a report by the Democratic wing of the US Senate Joint Economic Committee states.

“The committee found that in the last month alone, American households have paid $8.4 billion more for fuel than they did before US President Donald Trump's war with Iran“, the report says.

According to the report, American drivers are currently paying 35% more for fuel than they did on February 28, when the military operation against Iran began. A full tank of a Ford F-150, the best-selling vehicle in the United States, will cost $145, $37 more than at the start of the campaign. Texas residents suffered the most, paying more than $1 billion for fuel. California came in second, paying nearly $970 million.

Earlier, GasBuddy, a website that tracks fuel price trends, reported that the average price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States had exceeded $4. This is a record high since August 2022. California remains the most expensive state for consumers, with the average price of a gallon of gasoline at $5.887.

The highest price for the average price of gasoline in the United States was recorded in June 2022, when the price of a gallon exceeded $5.
