US budget revenue from tariffs from January to June 2025 reached $87.2 billion, the Japanese portal Nikkei Asia reported, citing US government data.

Revenue from import tariffs has increased sharply since US President Donald Trump introduced the new tariffs in April. According to the analysis of the US Customs and Border Protection data portal, by the end of June, the flat-rate 10% tariffs had brought the state over $17.7 billion, and the 25% tariffs on imported cars - over $10.7 billion. USD.

As reported by the US Treasury Department, in June alone, tariffs brought in 26.6 billion USD in revenue. According to the Bloomberg agency, revenues have increased almost fourfold compared to last year, when this amount was 6.3 billion USD. The Nikkei Asia article claims that Washington's revenues from tariff measures have reached such a scale that the White House may find it difficult to cancel or reduce tariff rates in the future, even under a new administration. This is due to concerns that tariffs will become a permanent source of budget revenue for the US.

Earlier, the Financial Times, citing data from the US Treasury Department, wrote that additional tariffs on foreign goods introduced by Trump have brought the country an additional 47 billion USD in revenue. In the second quarter of 2025, tariffs totaled a record $64 billion, $47 billion more than in the same period a year earlier.
