They amount to 15,699.4 million leva, which is 65.1% of the plan for the year. Compared to the same period of the previous year, pension expenses are 1,687.8 million BGN (12.0%) more.
The National Social Security Institute provides monthly information on the cash execution of the budgets of the social security funds administered by the institute by virtue of a legal delegation.
The total amount of revenues under the consolidated budget of the state social security as of August 2025 amounted to 9,804.2 million BGN, which represents 64.4% implementation of the plan for the year. Compared to the same period of 2024, revenues increased by 1,291.4 million BGN.
The amount of expenses incurred for the first eight months of the year is 17,709.0 million BGN, which is 64.7% of the plan for the year. Compared to the same period last year, expenses increased by 1,803.9 million leva.

The next most important and largest group of expenses in the consolidated budget of the Social Insurance Institution are the expenses for the payment of cash benefits and allowances under the Social Security Code, which as of August 2025 amounted to 1,882.7 million BGN, which is 61.2% of the plan for the year. The reported expenses are 110.8 million BGN more than in the same period of 2024.
The total amount of reported transfers (net) under the consolidated budget of the State Educational Service as of August 2025 is 7,923.8 million BGN.
Teachers' Pension Fund
The total amount of revenues under the budget of the Teachers' Pension Fund as of August 2025 amounts to 95.8 million BGN, which represents 68.8% implementation of the plan for the year. Compared to the same period of 2024, revenues increase by 15.5 million BGN.
Total expenses under the budget of the Teachers' Pension Fund for the period amount to 77.2 million BGN, which is 61.9% of the plan for the year. The expenses incurred are 11.2 million BGN more compared to the same period last year.
Fund “Guaranteed Claims of Workers and Employees“
The total amount of revenues under the fund's budget as of August 2025 amounted to 2,773.0 thousand BGN, which represents 86.7% implementation of the plan for the year. The revenues received are 1,074.3 thousand BGN more compared to the same period in 2024.
The total expenses of the fund as of August 2025 amounted to 2,102.3 thousand BGN, which is 43.4% of the plan for the year. The expenses incurred are 1,449.3 thousand BGN more compared to the same period of the previous year.
