On first reading: MPs decided that the heads of DATO and DAR should be elected by the parliament

The deadline for proposing changes before the second reading was reduced to three days.

With 118 votes "for", 60 "against" and 3 "abstentions", the MPs adopted on first reading changes to the Law on Special Intelligence Means, which provide for the chairman of the State Agency "Technical Supervision" to be elected by the National Assembly upon a proposal from the Council of Ministers. This was reported by the Bulgarian National Radio.

On first reading, it was also decided that the chairman of the State Agency "Intelligence" would be elected by the MPs. The vote passed with 117 votes "for", 60 "against" and two "abstained".

The deadline for proposing amendments before the second reading was reduced to three days.
