A protest in defense of the detained Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev was held in front of the Municipality in Varna.
For the 12th time in a row, protesters against the detention of Blagomir Kotsev gathered in front of the Varna Municipality building.
Last week, the Sofia Court of Appeals determined a lighter measure of detention "house arrest" for the two municipal councilors who were detained on the same charge.
On October 10, Kotsev's defense filed a request for a review of his pretrial detention, but the Sofia City Court once again left the Varna mayor in custody.
According to the protesters, the detention of Blagomir Kotsev is a substitution of the vote of Varna residents.
The protest will continue with a march to "Independence" Square and will end in front of the Courthouse again with a demand for justice.
Blagomir Kotsev's measure will be appealed on October 16 before the Sofia Court of Appeal.
