“Yes, Bulgaria” filed a signal to the OFAC service in the US, which, as part of the US Treasury Department, is responsible for implementing the sanctions regimes. The signal concerns the presence of bank accounts and transfers of significant financial funds (including in US dollars) by Delyan Peevski through a Bulgarian bank.
The co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria” Ivaylo Mirchev is convinced that the operations are in violation of US sanctions against Peevski under the global "Magnitsky" law. According to Bozhidar Bozhanov, just as it is right to apply sanctions to Lukoil, they should also be applied to sanctioned individuals.
