Georgi Ganev: Because of such budgets, we will be poorer than we could be

It is a constitutional prerogative, and of an exceptionally high degree of importance, that a budget is adopted solely by the National Assembly and no one else can dictate what happens to the budget

"The budget will be adopted without any understanding". This was stated to the Bulgarian National Radio by economist Georgi Ganev:

"There is no legislative requirement for employers and unions to approve the budget. It is a constitutional prerogative, and of an exceptionally high degree of importance, that a budget is adopted solely by the National Assembly and no one else can dictate what happens to the budget. The Tripartite Council is solely an advisory body. There are no negotiations, no conditions are set, the government is simply obliged to ask for the opinion of unions and employers.

"The budget is not balanced", the economist added in an interview for the "Predi vise" program on "Horizont" program:

"The suspicion is that with the capital programs, some practices of money disappearing will resume and continue, instead of on the other hand, something really being created that serves the interests of Bulgarian citizens.".

"Because of such budgets, we will be poorer than we could be, but we will not enter a total financial crisis with this budget," Ganev emphasized.
