„I want to congratulate all Bulgarian citizens who are fighting for the referendum, but also those who are protesting against the abuses of power. They have different motivations, but one common cause, and that is Bulgaria“. This was stated by President Rumen Radev to journalists.

„Peevski and Borisov are dismantling the state. By refusing to consider the referendum, the ruling party trampled on the Constitution and the rights of Bulgarians. The government may have the external signs of such a – limousines, GERB offices, microphones, but it no longer has legitimacy and is not shy about using the conquered institutions as clubs“, commented the head of state.

In his words, the anger from the lawlessness will fall on those who provoke it.

"This is a painful but inevitable scenario - when politicians refuse to hear the voice of the people", he pointed out.

„The most important thing is for people to realize where Bulgaria is heading with this type of behind-the-scenes governance. It's not even behind the scenes anymore, it's obvious“, Radev commented and added that Bulgaria is not moving towards Europe or a normal democracy.

Regarding the proposal to close down Air Squadron 28, the head of state commented:

“The trademark of the government's tyrant, who sits in the front row of parliament in front of the cameras, but secretly flies to Dubai every week in a private Falcon, is to ruin and sell off everything he touches“.

“If we let him run riot, the state is fine. So far, I have heard their intentions, we will see what actions they will lead to“, Radev pointed out.

“For three years, I have been warning about the inevitable, but some have preferred utopia and weapons over reality and diplomacy. Diplomacy could have prevented the loss of many, many lives and enormous destruction," the Bulgarian president commented on US President Donald Trump's peace plan.
