The protest of Blagoevgrad residents against the draft Budget 2026 has begun, a reporter for "Focus" reported. Shortly after 7:00 p.m., citizens gathered at "Georgi Izmirliev" Square, in front of the Blagoevgrad Municipality building, to protest against the fiscal policy of the ruling majority.
In the regional center, the protest is organized by students studying at the city's higher education institutions. The protesters chant "We will eat pig!" and "Mafia".
"Thank you for being here to express our civic position. We did not expect so many people and we are glad to see the square full. I want to tell you that we will be heard and our demands will be respected," said the organizers of the protest.
At the moment, the civil discontent is peaceful. The police presence is increased.
