„Herbal“ peeling disfigured a young mother. The young woman suffered second-degree burns and a long recovery, says an investigation by „Wake Up“. The procedure was performed in the living room of an apartment by a person who is not listed in the medical register, NOVA reported.

A skin-rejuvenating procedure, advertised as „completely harmless“, ended with serious consequences for Liana Georgieva. The young mother underwent the so-called „herbal peeling“, but instead of the expected result, she received serious burns.

Liana says that already five minutes after the procedure began, her forehead started bleeding. However, beautician Petya Delcheva assures her that “everything will be fine“. However, the nightmare begins after returning home - pus begins to flow from Liana's face, she feels severe burning and swelling.

After hours of silence, Delcheva sends a message in which she admits that she did not ask about the cosmetics used by the client. According to her, the reaction is the result of mixing two acids.

The diagnosis: Second-degree chemical burn. The victim's condition requires emergency care at the “Pirogov“ hospital. The doctors issue an outpatient certificate with the diagnosis: “Chemical burn of the head and neck, second degree“.

Dr. Ivan Balabanski from the “Pirogov“ Burn Clinic commented to NOVA that he has no idea what “herbal peeling“ is. He emphasizes that peels are primarily chemical procedures and should not be perceived as “spa procedures“, because they pose a risk if not performed by qualified personnel.

The “Wake Up“ team is conducting an inspection that reveals disturbing facts:

Registers: Petya Delcheva's name is not listed on the website of the Bulgarian Medical Union.

Conditions: The procedures are performed in the living room of an apartment in a residential block, where there are two cosmetic beds. Liana says that while they were treating her face, another girl was being given Botox on the bed next to her.

Complaints: Reports have been filed against Delcheva with the Bulgarian Health Insurance Institute and the Prosecutor's Office since late 2022. However, she continues to advertise her activities on social networks, including services such as fillers and Botox.

After Liana published her story to warn other women, she received a threat from Petya Delcheva: “If you don't delete the post, I will sue you for defamation“. However, the victim says that she has already received numerous messages from other women who were injured by the same beautician.

The prognosis for Liana's recovery is long - she should not be exposed to the sun for the next 6 months to a year and is required to use sunscreen with a factor of 50+. “I advise girls not to trust so easily and to research the experts“, she urges.
