One president invites another president - no one admits that Donald Trump invited Rumen Radev in a personal capacity. This is how former Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynski commented on “This Morning“ the American head of state's invitation to his Bulgarian counterpart to join the Peace Council for Gaza.

According to her, at the time of the invitation, Rumen Radev had not yet resigned.

“Such things should not be used politically and one should not get into petty disputes. Such invitations have been sent to over 60 countries and there is nothing exceptional in it. Some of the invitees are considering the proposal, especially the European partners. Bulgaria should “run out” and immediately agreeing is a manifestation of complexes“, she commented.

In her words, first we need to understand what the role of this Council will be and we should not forget that this is tied to a very serious amount of money.

“You can see the ambition of the American president that he will lead this Council for life. The world is changing before our eyes, many things have become clear. The Canadian Prime Minister, in his speech in Davos, emphasized “the middle-income countries“ and how they should act together, because otherwise they will always be “crushed“ by the larger ones. I do not understand this desire for Bulgaria to forever be under the wing of the strong, the big, the father figure. This complex that we cannot, before it was Russia, now America, take shelter under some wing and rest there,“ said Neynski.

She was categorical that Bulgaria is already in the “club of rich countries“ and it must have self-confidence for that.

“Bulgaria is a country in resignation. President - in resignation, government - in resignation, prime minister - in resignation, a bunch of institutions with expired mandates. The world media connects Radev's resignation with political instability. This is a precedent in EU and NATO countries - a president resigns before the end of his mandate and enters politics, but we have always been “unique“. "The world is currently boiling and seething, and it seems as if Bulgaria is not on the map," Neinsky pointed out.

Neinsky explained that Donald Trump's interest in Greenland is economic, and the other country that has "cast an eye" on the island is China.

“Greenland is strategic. If China is the tempter, the US is deploying a military base there and offering security guarantees - Europe cannot remain silent on this issue. It may be the one to displace China, offering economic opportunities to the island. In my opinion, it is very important for the United States and Europe to find a solution, as allies in NATO," the diplomat commented.
