Two children are in serious condition after the fire in a housing cooperative in the center of Sofia last night. They have been admitted to the children's intensive care unit of "Pirogov". The children are conscious, BNT reported.
Another child was injured in the fire, who was examined and released because his condition did not require hospitalization. Two adults were also seriously injured. A 41-year-old woman died in the fire. The fire was started by a mentally disturbed man.
Last week, a mother and her two daughters died in a similar fire also in the capital. According to firefighters, the two cases are absolutely identical, as the victims made the same mistake and suffocated while trying to evacuate.
In January alone, there were 2,800 fires in the country, 500 more than last year.
