Radev has proven himself to be a stable and moderate head of state - his positives outweigh the negatives

Changes in the Electoral Code are to the detriment of the Bulgarian voter, believes the former Minister of Agriculture

This is another parliament that is leaving, and before leaving, it made a change in the law that is to the detriment of the Bulgarian voter. The politicians have shown that they do not care at all about the people's vote and that the most important thing for them is to make a law in their own favor, not in the interest of society.

This was said by the former Minister of Agriculture Mehmed Dikme in the program “Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov” on NOVA NEWS.

According to Dikme, the new texts will create serious difficulties for Bulgarian citizens abroad and will limit their right to participate in the electoral process. He pointed out that the law will in practice lead to huge queues and organizational chaos during voting in Turkey, while also affecting Bulgarians in the UK, the US and other countries. “The distance between Çorlu, Istanbul and Haskovo is almost the same as from Sofia to Haskovo. People will get in their cars and come to vote if they want. This will create a huge problem for the polling stations. And this law is contrary to the Constitution because it restricts the right of Bulgarian voters to participate in the elections”, stressed Dikme.

The former Minister of Agriculture asked a direct question to GERB leader Boyko Borisov. “How does Boyko Borisov feel in the company of “Vazrazhdane” when he votes for this law? With “Vazrazhdane” will govern after the elections?”, he asked.

Dikme commented on the upcoming elections and said that he had not yet decided who he would vote for. According to him, the protests of recent months were not directed against a specific person, but against the overall model of governance. “Society does not accept the model that has governed the country so far. People took to the streets to demand change and a new way of governing”, he said.

According to former minister Rumen Radev, he has proven himself to be a stable and moderate head of state. “If we put it on a scale - Rumen Radev's positives outweigh the negatives”, he added. Dikme emphasized that trust must be earned with clear programs and real proposals to voters.
