Bulgarian business has requested over 148 million euros in grants from the Ministry of Innovation and Growth (MIR) to develop green and digital partnerships with universities and scientific organizations. This is nearly five times more than the funds that companies could apply for until yesterday (February 16) under the procedure of the “Research, Innovation and Digitalization for Smart Transformation“ Program.

The budget of the measure is 31 million euros. 285 micro, small and medium-sized companies submitted project proposals under it. If approved, they can receive between 51,000 and 767,000 euros to develop and deploy digital and green solutions and eco-innovations to increase their competitiveness and market performance.

The procedure will finance testing or validation of innovative technologies and products, prototyping, modeling or other validation tests. It will be possible to develop business plans for commercialization in high-value-added markets, conduct studies of growth prospects, protect intellectual property, analyze competing technologies, etc.

The evaluation of the projects submitted to the MIR will start by the end of February.
