Fair and free elections are the duty of the election administration and the Council of Ministers, and not of a specially created position of "minister for fair elections". Thus, mathematician Prof. Mikhail Konstantinov commented on the new position in the caretaker cabinet, which remained vacant after only one day. Regarding the verdict of Stoil Tsitselkov, Prof. Konstantinov emphasized in "The Day of Live" that it was published and has been since 2015 for driving after drinking alcohol. "Today, for such an offense, you go to prison, but back then the sanction was not like that," he noted and added that there is also a rehabilitation period.
According to him, DANS should have conducted a preliminary check of all senior appointments. He expressed his firm position that anyone who drives after drinking alcohol is “ready to commit premeditated murder.”
Prof. Konstantinov emphasized that the main task of the caretaker government is to ensure the normal functioning of the state. “Its first additional goal is to produce fair and free elections”, he said.”
According to him, there is no reason to take a position “for“ or “against“ specific ministers in the caretaker cabinet. However, he pointed out that the Minister of Justice must clearly explain whether he interceded for “the pedophile sect of “Petrokhan”. At the same time, Prof. Konstantinov is categorical that significant changes in the judicial system should be left to a regular parliament and a regular government, and not be made under the conditions of an official mandate.
Regarding the constitutional amendments, he noted that the non-dissolution of the parliament is “the only good thing“ in the changes made.
According to him, Bulgaria is having a hard time finding its correct positioning in the complex international environment. “There are nuances. We cannot absolutely unquestionably follow all the policies of the European Union“, he said, criticizing the current governance of the union.
