The Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions (CITUB) is starting a series of protests in several cities, related to the request to provide funds from the budget for a 5% increase in wages in areas that did not receive a raise in wages in the first version of the so-called "extension" law. These are sectors financed on the principle of subsidy.

The first protest action will be by employees of "Bulgarian Post", who will stop work today, Monday, on the first day of pension distribution this month.

Also today, workers in City Transport - Varna will hold a protest march and blockade of the Asparuh Bridge. The organizer of the protest of the workers at "Bulgarian Posts" is the Trade Union Federation of Communications under the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions (CITUB), and the demand is for a minimum 5% increase in the basic monthly salaries retroactively from January 1. 2.42 million euros are needed. The CITUB sent a letter to the Ministry of Interior for additional police presence in front of the post offices to maintain public order in the event of a large crowd.

The action of the workers in the public transport of Varna is also for at least a 5% increase in salaries from January 1, and the funds needed for this purpose are 1.3 million euros. The organizer of their protest is the Federation of Transport Trade Unions under the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions (CITUB).

Workers in the public transport of Ruse will protest on March 10, and the movement of some of the bus lines in the city will be blocked. Also, for at least a five percent increase in their salaries from January, 0.55 million euros are needed.

On March 11, Sofia public transport workers expect the acting Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance and the mayor of Sofia to visit one of their workplaces on site and personally familiarize themselves with working conditions. A total of 8.38 million euros are needed to increase salaries in Sofia's public transport.

The workers of the "Road Infrastructure" Agency will block the Republic Highway on March 12. They also want a 5% increase in salaries, as well as guarantees that the change will be long-term, and not only within the framework of the so-called "extended law".
