"I am very glad that we are in Tsar Kaloyan, we have a fairly strong list in Razgrad. In recent days we have seen how we can work normally and chase down vote buyers and arrest them". This was stated by the leader of “Continuing the Change“ (PP) and candidate for MP from the PP-DB lists Asen Vassilev, quoted by novini.bg.
„The fact that the Ministry of Interior has started to do its job and arrest vote buyers for the first time since 2021 is extremely commendable, because this guarantees fair elections“, commented Asen Vassilev.
He stressed that all people in the country, regardless of whether they live in a big or small city, should have the opportunity to vote peacefully and that no one will pressure or threaten them.
"When we achieve this, we will have a normal country and fair elections in Bulgaria“, Vassilev explained.
According to him, this could be achieved during these elections, highlighting the active work of the Ministry of Interior in local areas, referring to the police actions against vote trading. He expressed regret that only in his constituency in Haskovo are such actions still lacking, but he is sure that the Ministry of Interior will get there, since “there are a lot of vote buyers there too“.
“We saw how they caught the head of the post office in Kardzhali for lying to people that they were receiving aid from a political force; we saw a lot of seized funds and vote buyers“, he said.
“We hope that the Ministry of Interior will be able to ensure peaceful and fair elections absolutely everywhere, so that people, no matter where they are, can vote freely for the party they want“, the party leader added.
“This is the only way for all corruption to be removed from the country – when people go out and vote. Only in this way will people's money start to reach them again, and not fill party coffers, as has happened for so many years in a row. We have always been in favor of Bulgarian citizens being able to vote freely“, emphasized the chairman of the PP.
He explained that his choice to visit the town of Tsar Kaloyan was for this reason - because it is a small settlement where people are usually afraid and worried, but he assured that they need not worry, because they will be able to vote freely.
