The Central Election Commission announced the names of all newly elected members of parliament in the 52nd parliament. The next constitutional step is for the president to schedule the first session of the new parliament. The procedure for forming a new government is not short, BNT reminds.

Next week, President Iliana Yotova is expected to convene the first session of the new 52nd parliament. After that, the roulette wheel for forming a government will spin, but before that, the president must hold consultations with all parliamentaryly represented forces. After them, he will also hand over the first exploratory mandate to "Progressive Bulgaria". It is the largest parliamentary group in the new parliament. This is possible around May 4 and 5. If this does not happen, it will probably be around mid-May. After handing over the mandate, the candidate for Prime Minister has a seven-day period in which to present the composition and structure of the government.

„Progressive Bulgaria“ stated on BNT that they have no intention of delaying the mandate, especially since the people have voted for them so much trust in the elections.

Slavi Vassilev, „Progressive Bulgaria“: „The time for true justice is coming, the time for transparency, the rule of law and responsibility is coming. We will be able to fully implement personnel changes and determine political and legal changes that will free public life from the legacy of those whom the Bulgarians kicked out on the 19th.“

A comment also came from the acting Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynski. Her assessment – fair and transparent elections that passed peacefully, smoothly and without violations.

Nadezhda Neynski, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs: “These were the fairest and most transparent elections and perhaps the beginning of an increased activity of Bulgarians in the electoral process. The desire of people to vote has returned precisely because of the transparency. From now on, we will see how the party leader Rumen Radev and the likely Prime Minister will position his government. And based on this, we will see whether the doubts and suspicions based on his previous statements are justified or not.“

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also commented on voting abroad. According to him, many more people went to the polls in these elections. 50,000 more people went than in the previous elections.
