Ivaylo Mirchev: PP-DB can set conditions for the Supreme Judicial Council. Andrey Gyurov is our most successful prime minister

The only thing that Mirchev expressed as a concern for the 52nd National Assembly is that "Progressive Bulgaria" should not hesitate about the change that is needed for our justice system - and that there should not be another turn that would preserve the status quo.

We have a clear determination, I hope in "Progressive Bulgaria" as well, to change the judicial system. We must use this chance, because in the last 15 years it has not been there. This was stated by the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" Ivaylo Mirchev on BNT, quoted by novini.bg.

In his words, PP-DB can set conditions for the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC). He is of the opinion that there should be careful selection and changes to the Judiciary Act – for example, the bar and universities should also be able to propose candidates. Mirchev is adamant that this has long been the position of the PP-DB in general.

"We have never been interested in being at the head of the judiciary, the important thing is that it be independent", continued Mirchev and admitted that the destruction of the Borisov-Peevski model leads to a great temptation to simply create a new such model. "The temptation is great, we must resist it", he said.

Politicians must understand that they cannot interfere in the judiciary, he is adamant and adds that two people cannot call and say this or that.

The only concern that Mirchev expressed for the 52nd National Assembly is that "Progressive Bulgaria" should not hesitate about the change that is needed for our justice system – and that there is no more turning point that will preserve the status quo.
The House Book has elected Andrey Gyurov, who is our most successful prime minister. He, together with Emil Dechev and Georgi Kandev, held the fairest elections ever. They did their job perfectly, he added.

When we don't even have a coalition agreement, it's hard to ask for more than those additional 60,000 votes we received in the last elections. What we proposed is to start discussions about a single political entity. First, however, let's conclude a coalition agreement with "We Continue the Change" (PP), said Mirchev.
