MPs are returning to work after the summer vacation, and on the very first day they will face an important task related to the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan. Parliamentary activity begins today with a meeting of the Committee on Legal Affairs.

The members of the committee will consider and vote on second reading amendments to the Civil Servant Act. The legislative amendments are tied to the funds under the Recovery Plan, with the deadline for their adoption being August 31, novini.bg reminds.

Due to the short deadline, the Speaker of the National Assembly will convene an extraordinary session on Tuesday, at which the MPs must vote on the amendments.

The entire autumn session of parliament is also shaping up to be busy. Among the main tasks facing the parliamentarians are the adoption of the state budget for 2027 and the election of members from the parliamentary quota in the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).

The rulers expect the procedure for renewing the personnel body of the judiciary to be completed by early November, when the SJC should have a new composition.
