The Transport Committee of the Metropolitan City Council called on Mayor Vasil Terziev not to continue with the reorganization of traffic on the boulevards "Patriarch Evtimiy", "Vitosha" Blvd. and St. "Prof. F. Nansen", reported by "Focus". Today, the municipal councilors discussed for nearly four hours the case, which caused a strong public reaction in recent days.

During the meeting, the Deputy Mayor for Transport Iliyan Pavlov stated that there is a need for a change in traffic, as "Patriarch Evtimiy" Boulevard was used on almost 100% of cars. Municipal councilors, however, were critical of the PP-DB-SS group and the administration in the Capital Municipality, stating that "this absurdity must stop".

The district mayor of "Sredets" Traicho Traikov said that the project was launched by hiding information from both the public and the municipal councilors. He called for the reorganization activities to be suspended until full analyzes of the effects of the change are done and they are agreed with the residents of the area.
At the end of the meeting, the chairman of the commission, Ivan Takov, asked the municipal councilors to receive all the documentation surrounding the decision. However, the Transport Commission cannot oblige Terziev to stop the project, and for this reason Takov stated that since there was no consensus, it should not be implemented.
