There is no small Bulgaria, there is one Bulgaria and it is our Motherland. There is none more familiar than her image, which we carry deep in our hearts. This image makes us strong and proud Bulgarians. No matter where we choose to live, we are connected by a thread as strong as the Kubrat bundle. We in Bulgaria are stronger with all of you.

With these words, quoted by BTA, Vice President Iliana Yotova opened in the German city of Münster the fourth edition of the Bulgarian People's Assembly “ Thread from the Root”, the Press Secretariat of the Head of State announced.

The meeting, which is held under the patronage of the vice president, gathered participants from all over Germany, neighboring countries and Bulgaria. The organizer of the event, which promotes Bulgarian culture and traditions, is the Bulgarian Cultural Association "Little Bulgaria".

Iliyana Yotova thanked our compatriots for passing on the love and knowledge of Bulgaria to the generations. “Although more and more Bulgarians are born abroad, thanks to sincere patriots like you, the Bulgarian spirit and Bulgarian traditions are preserved and spread. This is how Bulgaria will remain," the vice president emphasized in his greeting.

„We are on the eve of the most Bulgarian, brightest and most unifying holiday, May 24. 11 centuries ago, an alphabet was created in Bulgaria, in which more than 300 million people around the world write today. Bulgaria spread spirituality and literature to the entire Slavic world. Bulgarians are the only ones in Europe born from pen, speech and writing. "There is no other nation with its own anthem for letters, with a celebration of its literature and culture," Iliana Yotova pointed out. She pointed out that this great history makes us inheritors of the vast spiritual territory of Bulgaria. The vice-president thanked for the active activity of the Bulgarian societies abroad and the Bulgarian Sunday schools.

Earlier, Iliana Yotova met with representatives of the local government in Münster, to whom she expressed her gratitude for the support for the Bulgarian community to preserve its identity.

The traditional Bulgarian assembly “ Thread from the root“ is on May 18 and 19 in the German city, the association announced on its Facebook page.

„Due to the increased interest in the event this year, it will be held on two consecutive days, and on the first day it was open to all visitors. On the second day, the meeting will be held outdoors from 11:00 a.m. in the Mühlenhof craft museum, where it is usually held. Attendance there is subject to admission according to the museum's set fees”, according to the association “Little Bulgaria”.

A total of 17 dance groups participate in the program for the two days, as well as the official guests - a representative group of 11 dancers, singers and musicians from the “Pirin“ Ensemble. In addition to their individual performances during the two days, the small performers 10-year-old Maksimilian Mitev (bagpipe player) from Papenburg and 9-year-old Magdalena Stefanov (singer) from Mende will have the privilege to participate, the organizers add.
