Vojchehovski's program includes meetings in Sofia with President Rumen Radev, with Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, with the Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Georgi Takhov, at whose invitation the European Commissioner is arriving in our country, and with representatives of the parliamentary committee on agriculture, food and forests.
Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev will hold a meeting with Vojchehovski, the Council of Ministers confirmed.
From 10:30 a.m. in the Council of Ministers, the European Commissioner will take part in a joint media briefing together with Minister Takhov.
During his visit, Vojchehovski will also have a meeting with representatives of branch organizations from the agricultural sector in Bulgaria.
BTA recalls that the last address of the European Commissioner for Agriculture to the Bulgarian audience was in February during the AGRI SUMMIT 2024 "Seeds of Success" forum. In his video address then, Wojciechovski stated that Bulgaria is in second place in Europe in terms of effective utilization of the funds allocated by the EC in response to the challenges in the sector.
He emphasized that in unprecedented times like the present, the agricultural sector and rural areas are on the verge of dealing with various difficulties - the war in Ukraine, climate change, high costs and the burden of new legislation.
Wojciechovski arrives in Bulgaria at the end of his four-year term as European Commissioner.
