According to him, whichever of the two is elected, the qualities of both candidates will be beneficial for the Bulgarian clergy

The first round of selection for a new patriarch of Bulgaria has ended. Grigoriy Vrachanski and Daniil Vidinski collected the most votes in the election of a new patriarch.

„Both are representatives of a younger generation, aged 52-54. We will have a patriarch who will be a relatively young man. Expectations at the beginning that the choice will be between Grigoriy Vrachanski and Gavriil Lovchanski. In his public speeches, Metropolitan Daniil of Vidin expressed positions that were closer to those of the Russian Orthodox Church. Regarding Metropolitan Grigory of Vratsa – I have not heard it expressed in one direction or the other. The expectation for the new patriarch is that he will be a unifier, commented in the studio of "Wake up". the historian and editor-in-chief of “Christianity and Culture” Prof. Momchil Metodiev.
