The 9-year-old boy who was transported to the "Pirogov" university emergency hospital ; from Burgas, injured last night in an accident on the beach in Sozopol, continues to be in serious condition, Pirogov reported, quoted by BNT. He was placed in the pediatric intensive care unit, where he is under active observation and intensive care treatment.
"When entering "Pirogov" active diagnostic and treatment measures were carried out in order to save the life and health of the little patient. The 9-year-old boy was brought in a serious condition with polytrauma, the hospital said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense reported that the plane "Spartan" with which the child was brought took off at 12:37 from Sofia Airport with a medical team from UMBALSM "N. I. Pirogov". At 16:18 the plane successfully landed back in the capital.
Earlier, the hospital in Burgas reported that the child is in a medically induced coma, with a brain injury and spinal injuries.
The 9-year-old boy was seriously injured after he was trapped in the hydraulic drum of a cleaning machine on the central beach in Sozopol last night. Climbing on it while working on the strip, the boy loses his balance and falls into the rotating device that cleans the sand.
Last night the driver of the cleaning machine was released from the investigative arrest, reported the BNR correspondent in Burgas, Daniela Kostadinova. The man was detained for 24 hours after the incident on Central Beach last night. There is no reason to extend the arrest against the 69-year-old man from Ravadinovo, reported the Burgas police. The case is being investigated.
