„The months of July and August. In the heat, people are in a different state than usual. This leads to additional prerequisites for accidents”. This was stated to BTV by Chief Inspector Maria Boteva from the “Road Police”.
„And in this year, the three main causes of accidents are related to taking the right of way, not complying with the speed and incorrect maneuvers. The great scourge is taking advantage – the number of accidents is the highest. Most of the victims are after incorrect maneuvers, she added.
The Chief Inspector has advised people to make a plan before long journeys that includes breaks.
„There should be water in the car, there should be water for the car too, because sometimes you forget to add coolant,” commented Boteva.
From August 5 to 11, a specialized police operation to control speed regimes is underway throughout the country.
It is part of the calendar of the European network of traffic police services – ROADPOL, as similar checks are carried out in all member countries of the European network, the Ministry of the Interior reports.
„All the technical means at our disposal are brought out to carry out speed control. The action also takes place in the dark part of the day. Our cameras catch violations at night as well”, emphasized Maria Boteva.
