This is how Tihomir Bezlov, chief expert at the Center for the Study of Democracy, commented to the BNR the action of the prosecutor's office, the Anti-Corruption Commission and the police, during which the properties of businessman Rumen Gaitanski were searched.
The action is in connection with the investigation of a loan of nearly BGN 150 million granted to Gaitanski's company by the Bulgarian Development Bank.
There are many stories surrounding Rumen Gaitanski, Bezlov pointed out and recalled the businessman's co-ownership – the "Maria Luisa" bathhouse, the companies involved in the cleaning of Sofia, as well as the attempts to destroy his hunting lodge.
"Back when the split in the DPS started, one of the comments was that the strong person who finances the people who are around the "Dogan" wing, respectively Ahmed Dogan himself, is Rumen Gaitanski.

"Most developed countries have this type of banks that try to stimulate small and medium-sized businesses. They must exist. Another question is how you manage to protect them from political influences and clients who manage to take advantage of this public resource.
