"The situation with BDZ is not good, the problems have accumulated over the years and they cannot be solved with a magic wand". This was stated by the Minister of Transport and Communications, Krasimira Stoyanova, in Devnya, where the 50th anniversary of the opening of the port of Varna - West was celebrated, BNT reports.
Stoyanova pointed out that the best option for the development of BDZ is the investment in new rolling stock and yesterday's signing of the contract for the supply of 20 new motor trains is a step in this direction. Krasimira Stoyanova also added that the Ministry of Transport and Communications will look for the best option for the development of the port of Varna, and the idea of granting it a concession has not yet been abandoned, and this is primarily related to communication with the local authority and the employees of the gate.
Regarding the master plan for the development of the port, Minister Stoyanova indicated that it has already been adopted by the state enterprise "Port Infrastructure". and has been submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Water, where it must receive an environmental impact assessment.
After approval by the Ministry, the plan is subject to public discussion. The existence of the master plan is key to the development of the state terminals of the Port of Varna, emphasized Krasimira Stoyanova, expressing confidence that the administrative deadlines for the adoption of the master plan will be met.
