BOETS: Manoil Manev crushed our signal to Parliament about the Ministry of Interior's umbrella over the smuggling channe

The activists also claim that proceedings have been initiated against Georgi Georgiev from BOETS and he has been placed under surveillance

In a Facebook post, the civil organization BOETS accused the chairman of the parliamentary committee on internal security, Manoil Manev, of deliberately sabotaging the investigation of their signal by redirecting it to the Ministry of Interior itself.

"Manoil Manev crushed BOETS' signal to Parliament about the Ministry of Interior's umbrella over the smuggling channel in Plovdiv and the destruction of police files in Velingrad and Pazardzhik! He sent it to... the Ministry of Interior," the organization reports.

According to BOETS, on April 1, 2025 they have submitted an official report to the Internal Security Committee in the National Assembly, containing data from their investigations and names of employees from the Plovdiv Directorate of the Anti-Corruption Bureau. Instead of organizing a hearing of representatives of the organization and the mentioned employees, the chairman of the committee has directed the report to the ministry.

BOEC claims that they have evidence of the Ministry of Interior's umbrella over smuggling channels and the destruction of police files and evidence. The publication mentions that the smuggled cigarettes were transported by a truck "which was escorted and guarded by a Border Police vehicle".

The organization also accuses national television stations of imposing an information blackout around their investigations: "Not once did any of the so-called “national television stations&rdash; BTV, NOVA and BNT did not invite a representative of BOEC as sources and authors of these revelations and investigations!"

The activists also claim that proceedings have been initiated against Georgi Georgiev from BOEC and he has been placed under surveillance.

The publication also alleges that Manoil Manev recently became a "doctoral student" at the Academy of the Ministry of Interior, and Kostadin Angelov and Sevdelina Arnaudova from GERB received diplomas in "National Security" from the same Academy.
