The Sofia Municipal Council (SOC) adopted the Sofia budget for 2025 in a redrafted form.
The Sofia Municipality budget was adopted with 40 votes "for", 19 municipal councilors voted "against", there were no "abstentions", BNR reported.
The budget was redrafted beyond recognition, commented Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev:
"It was seen once again that the arguments have no meaning", said Terziev and pointed out that this is an absolutely deliberate destruction of the budget that was submitted.

This is not the budget of Mayor Terziev and our ruling coalition. We still do not know whether the figures will come out in the end - said the municipal councilor from the PP-DB group Dimitar Shalafov after the adoption of the Sofia Municipality budget for 2025.
"What happened was unprecedented. Today the ruling majority rewrote the mayor's budget", said Shalafov.
Greti Stefanova emphasized that this is the "New Beginning" in the governance of the SOS.
"The colleagues from the BSP are voting for the Sofia Budget for the first time. The others from the "New Beginning" are "Save Sofia", GERB, ITN. This is the new beginning in the governance of SOS", she said.
SOS Chairman Tsvetomir Petrov was categorical: "You will recognize them by their actions, and today the masks fell. It is sad that there was talk of morality, of important paragraphs and finally what, Mr. Zografski, a budget with GERB and BSP", he also said.
Today was an important step so that Sofia would not be left without a budget, said the leader of "Save Sofia" Boris Bonev after the adoption of the budget.
Bonev asked when PP-DB were making arrangements with GERB, did the masks fall.
Andrei Zografski was categorical that the adopted budget is 99% the same as what the mayor proposed. "This antagonism is harming the city", he believes.
