The Minister of Economy with his first comment on Bulgaria's entry into the Eurozone. “It will have a very good effect on the economy and citizens“, is the assessment of Petar Dilov. According to him, after the currency conversion, the shadow economy will be brightened.

“We are actively working on the information campaign, and we are firmly determined to refute all speculations that the euro leads to a decrease in people's living standards, because the data shows exactly the opposite. Although wages are higher in the Eurozone, they are growing at a faster pace. The eurozone is much more attractive for foreign direct investment, the eurozone will increase the country's credit rating, which will make it a much richer country“, the Minister of Economy commented to bTV.

“Regarding the gray sector, our main task is the accession of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Organization for Economic Cooperation - an organization that includes the 38 most developed economies in the world, where there are very strict rules regarding corporate governance, justice, the fight against corruption, and social policy.
Our goal is to complete the accession reviews by the end of the year and join the organization at the beginning of next year at the latest“, added Petar Dilov.
