Three women from a passenger car that collided with a truck at the intersection of the international road to the "Lesovo" border checkpoint and the road to the village of Chargan near Yambol were injured, the Bulgarian National Radio reported.
The accident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. They were taken to the "St. Panteleimon" Multi-Profile Hospital for Active Treatment in Yambol.
The deputy director of the medical facility, Dr. Valentin Valchev, reported that the 42-year-old woman driving the car is in danger of death. She was admitted to the intensive care unit in a state of traumatic shock. A 57-year-old passenger in the car was admitted to the surgery unit with a head injury. A 16-year-old girl was also injured, but her condition did not require hospitalization.
The area at the scene of the accident was temporarily closed from the side of the village of Veselinovo and from the intersection to the village of Kalchevo. Traffic has now been restored.
