A freight train hit a passenger car at a railway crossing in Simeonovgrad. The incident occurred in the afternoon, reports BTA, citing the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Haskovo.
According to information, the car stalled when crossing the tracks and the driver was unable to pull it out, despite the signal given by the train driver.
Before the subsequent impact, the driver managed to leave the passenger car and save himself. There was material damage in the incident. The samples of both drivers are negative, the police said.
About ten days ago, another freight train incident occurred near the village of Pyasuchevo in Simeonovgrad. In that incident, some of the fuel tanks derailed. Material damage was again recorded, but no casualties.
