The black leopard, which the authorities were searching for in the Shumen plateau in June, has been spotted again - this time in the area between the villages of Bogdantsi and Tarnovtsi in the Tutrakan Municipality.
A headquarters has been formed to search for the animal near Silistra. Regional Governor Iliyan Velikov confirmed to bTV that a report had been filed about the panther.
On Monday at around 4 p.m., a man noticed the unusual animal for the region on the road between the villages of Shumentsi and Bogdantsi.
Preliminary checks were carried out, but no traces of the wild animal were found.
A staff meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 12 p.m. to discuss measures to be taken in the region.
